Dear Marion County Community,

As we approach the upcoming elections, the heartbeat of our democratic process lies in the dedicated individuals who serve as poll workers. These unsung heroes ensure the smooth functioning of our voting precincts and contribute significantly to the democratic experience. Today, I am reaching out to you, our community champions, to consider becoming poll workers in Marion County, WV.

The Vital Role of Poll Workers:

Poll workers are the backbone of our electoral system, ensuring that every eligible voter has the opportunity to exercise their democratic rights. From assisting voters to maintaining order in the polling place, these individuals play a crucial role in upholding the integrity of our elections.

Why Volunteer as a Poll Worker in Marion County?

1. Civic Duty:
By becoming a poll worker, you actively participate in the democratic process and contribute to the foundation of our community.

2. Community Connection:
Poll workers are the friendly faces that greet their neighbors on Election Day. Your service fosters a sense of community and camaraderie among voters.

3. Hands-on Learning:
Volunteering as a poll worker provides a unique opportunity to learn about the electoral process firsthand. Gain valuable insights into how elections are conducted in Marion County.

4. Cash in your pocket:
You heard that right, it pays to be a poll worker. You have training on one day for a few hours and then the day of the election, you work at the polls. Normally you are done by 7 pm. However, if selected as a commissioner at the poll location (which I believe pays more) then you will need to transport the ballots to the election center.

How You Can Help:

Marion County needs passionate individuals willing to dedicate their time and energy to be poll workers for the upcoming elections. Your commitment will help ensure a smooth and efficient voting experience for all residents.

If you are interested in becoming a poll worker, please contact me at toby.heaney2@gmail.com for more details and to sign up. I will then put you in touch with a coordinator to get you scheduled.

Conclusion:

Your participation as a poll worker is a vital service to our community. By taking on this role, you become an integral part of the democratic fabric that makes Marion County strong. Thank you for considering this essential civic duty, and I look forward to seeing our community come together to make our elections a success.

Sincerely,

Toby Heaney
